IPv6 policies in the AfriNIC region
Information about policy development in the AfriNIC service region can be found here.
The following AfriNIC policy documents describe specific AfriNIC community policies relating to the distribution of IPv6 address space.

IPv6 allocation policy
This document describes policies for the allocation and assignment of globally unique Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) address space to organisation in the AfriNIC service region. If your organisation plans to obtain IPv6 address space from the AfriNIC, you should read this document.
This is the policy of most relevance to organisations who wish to obtain a simple allocation of IPv6 address space from the AfriNIC and use the space for their own infrastructure and also provide services for their customer networks.
IPv6 Provider Independent (PI) Assignment for End-Sites
This is the policy under which AfriNIC assigns Provider Independent (PI) IPv6 addresses to “end-sites”. These include End-Users who already have or qualify to get IPv4 PI addresses and critical Infrastructure providers such as TLD root server operators and public Internet eXchange Points (IXP’s).
AfriNIC IPv6 Virtual Lab
The AfriNIC IPv6 Virtual Lab is a publicly accessible test network managed by AfriNIC for testing and educational purposes. The network is setup with the support of 6Deploy consortium and is built mainly on Cisco Systems to increase the opportunity for AfriNIC community members to gain hands-on experience with IPv6.
