Leading UK data centre provider C4L launches IPv6 across their network
07 Oct 2009

The UK’s largest privately owned data centre network and colocation provider C4L is proud to announce the launch of IPv6 across all of its networks. This next step continues C4L’s goal to be on the leading edge of connectivity in the UK data centre market. Furthermore, this news makes C4L the UK’s largest IPv6 and IPv4 data centre footprint network provider.

The Internet World has been using the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) for the last two decades and has experienced tremendous success, hence the primary reason for the Internet community adopting IPv6 is one of space. IPv4 has a finite amount of address space which, thanks to the Internet’s rapid growth, is soon to run out. The exponentially larger amount of addresses within IPv6 will facilitate the Internet’s continuing growth. C4L is now offering IPv6 as standard at no additional charge. Customers will now be given the option of IPv6 addresses, and current customers requiring further IP addresses will also be offered the opportunity to use them.
